Hello everypony!

In previous pony generations the world of humans was a definite and canon place. In the Friendship is Magic series, however, humans seem to be a thing of the past.

Quite literally if my theories are correct!

So lets take a look into why Lyra loves hands.

There have been several hints during the FiM run that humans did(do?) exist with some hints being more obvious than others.

One of the smaller tidbits that lend credence to this nonsense are particular parts of the pony vernacular or vocabulary if you will.

Words are used that have no place in the world of ponies such as Rarity referring to Rainbow Dash looking like a tank in her dress or Dashie making reference to the speed of a bullet when stating how fast they would have to be going to keep up with her.

On their own these words do suggest the existance of humans but I feel it would be possible to explain their usage in other ways keeping ponyland pure and people free but there is one aspect of life that cannot be explained in any other way.

What is this aspect you ask?

Proper Silverware Placement.

In the episode "No Second Prances" Twilight attempts to use setting the table as a means for teaching GlimGlam about the downsides of communism which gave me a thought about the evolutionary ladder of the equine race.

Ponies eat with their mouths.

They bend over and eat the grass and flowers.

When Unicorns came into existence there would have been even less need for knives and forks.

Possibly spoons though.....

At no point during their evolutionary climb would they have evolved the need or want for cutlery (aside from the mighty spoon) which means that it is merely an affectation not a requirement.

Can anybody here tell me what race might have evolved the need for a strawberry pick?

Humans.

Very good.

So proper silverware placement provides us with the much needed empirical evidence to prove that there was a population of humans in or in contact with pony land at some point.

Or at the very least some Archaeological pony found ancient texts describing these strange and fanciful tools.

Class dismissed.
