Fillies and gentlecolts today we are taking a look at the world in which the ponies reside as we try to determine the answers to a few questions that were brought to my attention.
Questions that weigh heavily on the minds of our worlds top scienticians, so without further ado, let's dive right in.
What lies beyond the borders of Equestria?
Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
You heard me. Look at that map.
Doesn't it look a little flat to you? It is my assumption that beyond those mountains lays the vast cold emptiness of the void we call space where no pony can hear you scream.
Seeing as there are currently living individuals in control of both the Sun and the Moon we can also assume that there are no other planets in the near vicinity as they seem to only affect Equestria.
That or Celestia and Luna destroyed an unknown number of worlds raising and lowering their respective celestial bodies.
With that in mind we can assume that the area around Equestria is devoid of life so what holds in their atmosphere and why are they not destroyed by meteor showers?
To answer that I propose the idea that Equestria is surrounded by a transparent globe of magic. This globe would not only hold in atmosphere but prevent the oceans waters from leaking away.
The Sun and Moon would reside outside this globe so when one or the other is lowered it would simply circle around to the underside of the flat land mass.
To help you picture it the song gypsy bard comes to mind.
"You're just a toy makers creation trapped inside crystal ball."
OK.
So in keeping with this train of thought how did Equestria end up like this? Well if we want to look back at the older Pony shows there used to be humans around then but in the current version there are none.
If we accept that all the shows exist in the same reality then it's logical that at some point a decision was made to sever ties with the human world.
Perhaps by raising a magical globe?
In conclusion the globe was raised and the land cut off leaving the human race to perish horribly in the vacuum of space as a large chunk of the planet was ripped free allowing the rest of the world to crumble apart like an unwanted cookie, oatmeal raisin probably, leaving us with the land of Equestria as we know it today.
